RTM Switches the BISS ON

Some of us notice that RTM (especially RTM 2 and Muzik Aktif) is switching to the previous encryption system: BISS. But, don't worry! It's still on the old keys. Just incase you don't have the previous keys, here it is:

It's been a while, the 4 Adult Channels have been moving or upgrading the encryption system to what so called WinCAS. There's still rumour that this encryption is not really a WinCAS, it could be a higher level of the previous encryption was used.

But, no matter the problem, we hope to find a solution soon, at least next year. No need to worry much!

What a long time!

I haven't updated this blog for sometime. Sorry for my life seems to be a little bit busy at my main blog (Indonesian Version) at www.budiarno.com. Just being remember about this blog and try to start it again. Actually there's lot more to write about satellite tv, but not this time. I'll do it later.

For now, I just wanna tell you some progress I've made along with my new main Operating System of my PC, i.e. Ubuntu - Linux. I have just made the sharing possible using Kaffeine plus SC-plugin and CCCam. That's the biggest achievement I've ever made on my tv satellite experience. I wish someday I'll have my own CCCam server by my side.

But, for this moment I just have to connect to my friend's server, no matter. Someday will come true as I made it happen to this Ubuntu. See you on the next post soon!

Dish – Handmade / Homemade

Have you thought of making your own dish? Is it possible to do so? Yes, it is. You can make your own handmade dish whether you want to use metal or wood as the materials to make the ribs.

Please don’t misunderstand if someone say they use wood as the material to make their own dish. The wood is just for the ribs and or the mounting parts. It is not the main reflector as this part is always made of metal or for sure it’s mainly using alluminium. So far, the handmade dish is only on mesh form, and it’s rarely found if someone has made the solid one.

If you can made the dish on your own, you just need to buy the receiver, LNB, and coaxial cable (to connect between receiver and LNB) plus it’s little two connectors. Someone on Tele-Satellite magazine ever said made it from the metal or zinc as the reflector and he used some metal to be the ribs. It’s happened in Afganistan (if I were not wrong). He did that because there are some rules in the country that ban the local people on trading the dish. So he made it by hand.

But, one thing for your count before you make it on your own, that the precision of the dish you make will determine whether the signal you receive from the satellite will be strong or weak, or not at all. So, use the original dish made by the manufacturer as the measurement unit to duplicate. This is not illegal, you just take the measurement for home use, not for selling.

After having the measurements: diameter, the ribs curve, and the focus of the dish, start the work by finding the good material that you can afford in your place. Then install the dish by your own.

Dish – a small briefing

What is dish? What so special about dish? Hmm... as an enthusiast you must have known about this tool. The one part of digital satellite tv set that is used to receive and focusing the signal from the satellite. So that, this is then called satellite dish.

Dish or for sure – satellite dish, is made of metal or alluminium which come into two forms, mesh and solid. The diameter of the dish is one of the main factors on receiving the signals, whether it’s strong or weak - the bigger the dish the better. You can count on the dish from its diameter by: 60 cm, 90 cm (3ft), 120 cm (4ft), 150 cm (5ft), 180 cm (6ft), 240 cm (8ft), 270 cm (9ft), 300 cm (10ft), 360 cm (12 ft), 720 cm (24 ft) and many more, I don’t know the biggest one.

One of the factors determined the best dish is the precision of the dish is made. The more precision the dish made to install the more focus its signal reception. And you’ll get the best signal to receive using any receiver you have. If you plan to buy new dish or you don’t have any now and want one, make sure you get that from well know manufacturer. Buy the locally made if you can find the local manufacturer, it’s not that bad for that.

I live in Sambas – West Borneo, the local manufacturer is in Pontianak. We get the supply of the dish from there which is usually of the kind a mesh dish. Here in Sambas, we or mainly of the consumers are using 6 ft mesh and 9f mesh one.

My cousin, one of the moderators, at Kota Satelit Dot Com said to me that the channels package at Telstar 18 (138'E) is now on FTA mode. It's freely open to public, that was what I thought. Sounds interesting huh? I tried it using my Technosat Mentari, but what could I find? Nothing! But hey, wait a minute? It works!!!

I thought it was just a rumor, but it is real indeed. My cousin then told me that it was opened using some kind a plugin. What is it now? Ok, I think first! Thinking about plugin, I remember my SS2 (SkyStar 2 DVB-Card).

That's right! My cousin then told me that I were right. It is using SS2 and it works just fine. What a surprise! After he said about the plugin, I then rushed to browse the forum and point my mouse over the suitable topic, the familiar topic for me because I've joined there since October 2007. No big deal!

I download the plugin and, tadaaaa.... The channels are working fine on my PC, the Test 1, 2, 3, 4 are really working too using this cardsharing (Flysoftcam). It really works... thank you guys, for being real in friendship. I love you too guys!!!

Positioner and DiSEqC. 1.2 - Part 1

Do you bought a new positioner set to point your dish automatically to some satellites up there but don't know what to do with it? Well, why don't read this simple tutorial on how to do it yourself. It's not so hard then, it's very simple and easy to follow. Let's check it out how...!

Assume you have all of the equipments needed here:

- Actuator

- Positioner

- Cable with four wire inside (black, white, blue, red).

First of all, prepare the wire to connect between the positioner to the actuator. Simply cut it out by a cutter or use a little fire if needed.

Then, open the actuator case at the bottom and you should find the cable to connect as shown on the illustration below:

If you have found it, just connect the cable with its 4 (four) wires inside as you like. You can choose what colors of the wires to connect as long as you can remember them when you have to connect to the positioner.

After connecting this cable, go to back panel of your positioner and you should find as the illustration figure shown below (depends on any brands you have):

Be careful, the warning from the manufacturer. You could possibly damage the sensor unit if you misplace the cable to connect. So, remember the cable colors, on what color you connect the two for sensor and two more for motor. Just assume we have connected to: Sensor with blue and red, Motor with black and white. But wait a minute...

The warning from the manufacturer is a soft warning. You don't have to worry too much, because it's not a fatal one. Connect the suitable wires and you're done. In the process of connecting the wires, be sure to do not connect the positioner to any electrical power. Just leave it unconnected.

After finishing this process, try the connection wether it's right or wrong. Turn ON the positioner, then push the UP and Down button (or West and East). If it goes well, the connection is right. But if the direction is false, you just have to change between the two wires that connect to the SENSOR. Red to blue, blue to red.

If the motor won't move (up and down), please check again the connection of the two kind: SENSOR and MOTOR. Replace between the two, and do it until you find it works. Also check the limiter inside the Actuator, be sure it's not touch the limit pad.

Receiver Technosat Mentari - 1200 Channel Memory

One of the DVB set to receive satellite tv is Receiver box or some call it Set-Top-Box or for short just said STB. There are two main category of receivers: FTA receiver which is capable of receiving FTA signal from satellite tv broadcasting, and one that's called IRD or Integrated Receiver Decoder which is used to receive the transmission from some paytv providers such as Indovision, TelkomVision, Astro, DSTV, and many more.

I bought the FTA receiver months ago which is the product from technosat with its variant of Mentari - the Indonesia trademark I thought. Well, it is simply powerful to receive FTA tv transmission from the satellites.

One thing I know for sure is the blindscanning capability which is sensitive enough to use in the detail scanning. It only consume 3 (three) minutes or less to scan a satellite on average with the significant result.

I have some reason why I choose Technosat receiver than the others such as Goldsat, Tanaka, Matrix (FTA), and many more. I had searched for some references from my friends on forums. Many say that Technosat is one of the best receiver to receive satellite tv signal and it capability is awesome. I I've proved it for myself.

Beside its blindscanning, the interesting thing for me is the channel storage memory which is able to store 1200 data channels. This is the first receiver I bought (myself) which can actually store enough satellite tv parameters. I need that many because I love to scan from East to West satellites. For now, it is just from Telstar 18 (138'E) to Yamal 202 (49'E) I have on my receiver. I plan to spend on one or more dishes to receive other signals from East.

So, the main reason for I bought this Technosat Mentari are:

Fast Blindscanning
High sensitivity tuner and fast in channel switching (using the number key on the remote control).
Huge Channel Store Memory, up to 1200 channels.
It's a small dimension receiver but powerful.

But if you plan to have a receiver for receiving non-FTA programs too, you cannot do that with this Technosat Mentari because of course this is just an FTA receiver. Here's the picture of the Technosat Mentari that I use.

PayTV Aora - Another Astro Malay?

It became unclear wether this newly paytv via Satellite Measat 3 at 91,5'E is the successor of the Astro Nusantara after its backrupcy, or this is just another Astro Malay. Let's hope for none. Many talks are held about this new player on the paytv which carry more controversies. What happen to Indonesian paytv system?

For some, it is just the new of Astro, but for another it is just the beginning of a new player indeed. Some say that it's not too bad for subcribing to AORATV (it makes me confuse because I knew it was Citra TV). They say it was also flexible and fun. You can contact the service center and order. Simply in short a while after that, the technician will come to your house to get your order into action.

Is that so simple? Hmm.... don't have an experience on that, but I have some references for you to read about on the Forum Satelit Dot Com, you can find it HERE or just point your mouse to this one HERE (both in Indonesian language).

Many are still waiting for the certainty of what is actually this newly paytv, is it really the one that should substitute the Astro Nusantara or just simply a real new one.

Aora TV has the slogan of "Nonton Liga Inggris" - Watch BPL (in my concept), and if you are interested you can point your browser to http://nontonligainggris.com . Another confusing word for AORATV. Is it just for BPL? Why? You can watch for BPL on some foreign tv-s which usually broadcast the event FTA (Free to Air), why should we subscribe then just to watch this one tv program?

Paytv is not just about BPL, isn't it? You will want to watch variety of programs such as family program, cartoon, film, ,music, sport, and many more. We want HBO, Star Movie, AXN, MTV, NGC, Discovery Channel, and so on. If we just get these CHANNELS with the high price to pay, what a silly idea with that. Are you willing to pay for nine channels (surely paytv) on Rp.1.500.000,- price? But wait a minute! This offer is for the "ex-paytv lain" (subscriber of another paytv-s?). What a price for "Liga Inggris"...!!!! I say it is nine because the other three is broadcasting on FTA mode.

Not too long for making complain here on my blog, I just wanna share some thought of mine (even that I am not interested in this new paytv). If you find the AORATV was a brilliant for your need and you are one of BPL fans, so why bother, go and order for subscription. If you have a thought like mine, just prefer another paytv, for flexibility I suggest to choose TelkomVision (I am not the dealer nor the legal subscriber of it or another paytv operators).

Satellite Yamal 202 at 49'E

At last, after two years long waiting, this Russian satellite is ON over my receiver. Thanks to all my Forsat Family Members, you're helping me so much guys... I love you all. Yamal 202 is one of the favourite satellites among the passioners. Therefore, this satellite is much disscussed on many forums, why?

Well, I think the interesting thing about this satellite Yamal 202 is actually about the content. If you still remember or have read the late tele-satellite magazine and get flashback to 1989 one, hmm.... I am sure that you'll agree with me, people love adult content tv, right?

Although Yamal 202 is not entirely about XXX content, but in some sessions it is serving the viewer with it "Adult Session". Yes, the popular tv here is "REN TV - PEH". This one is always hunted by the passioners who love watching the XXX and once in a while who also the FTA lovers.

I have searched for this satellite since two years ago, and about two days ago the quest is over and I have got it on my tv set. What a surprise, it's now easy to tune for this satellite. (I'll talk about How-to in this topic later). Now, I'm easily watch what others has years before, the REN-tv. Hehe...

Indovision Dish for Telkomvision Reception

Have you ever thought of using the dish (antenna) which is used to receive signal from Indovision that you can also use it to track Telkomvision on Telkom 1 at 108'E? Is this real or just another rumour? Well, based on some practical use of it, some of my friends (again in Forum Satelit) use this methode very well and they can receive Telkomvision as they used the big dish.

Actually the Indovision dish was designed to receive the S-Band signal, but not the C-Band which is used here by Telkomvision. Hehe.. wether right or wrong, some jokes amongst the enthusiasts in Forum Satelit say Telkomvision plan to use small dish because the provider learn the trick from the forum. Well, I don't know for sure about this rumour, but it's about to be true.

Some or one member shows us with his tools he made by combining the old LNB which were used in analog era and the dish Indovision itself. Actually, I don't know exactly how they measure the LNB to the dish, but I can show you the pictures they post in the Forum Satelit here (click for larger view):

The two photos above show us the modification of the LNB (the analog LNB) on the scalar ring and its measurement without having touched (modificate) the rod.

And here below, we can see how the LNBF (digital LNB) is cut and the rod which also be cut to make it more neatly (click for larger view).

And here is the final result to take effect on the signal quality of the Telkomvision transponders. It's unbelievable, but it's true and it's practically possible to do at home, by our own creativity. Why not try it for yourself (click for larger view).

Star Bangla - Arrives On Palapa C2

Forgot to post about this new test card at Palapa C2, today I give you this information for little referrence, I wish to get some email response from this new tv satellite provider which arrives lately with its very nice test transmission.

The parameter is on the regular Metro TV as we watch as usual. It is specifically at:

Video: 518 - Audio: 656 - PCR: 207.

The video quality actually is still more like an analog transmission, but as for alternatif to watch an Indian tranmission without to point your dish to the Indian satellite such as Insat and the other satellite transmit Indian tv-s for example Asiasat 3S, surely Star Bangla is the one of a choice but not for favourite as it is still a feed or test transmission.

I wish the Audio level of this tranmission is upper than today which is hardly to listen. It is too low and sometimes even it's out the sound or mute (don't have any idea why). But once again, as this is just a test transmission and not fully transmitting as the regular tv-s, we can tolerate for that, and hope for better. Wait ta go Star Bangla, we wait your full transmission as soon as possible.

This is the sreenshot I took by my phonecell camera, sorry the lack quaity picture for my cellphone has only equiped with 1.3 MP. But, at least it can provide some feedback for the provider of Star Bangla. Sorry for the picture above too.

MyTVSatellite - Who's Behind

My name's Budiarno. People call me on internet forums by "maxx", that's my little nickname I used recently on Forum Satelit Dot Com - the Indonesian Community of Satellite Enthusiasts. I as the moderator of the forum would be gladly to share any information in this satellite field. With my little English knowledge I try to spread the passion of this satellite tracking.

I wish I can make my dream come true to build my own satellite tracking station at my little house in Sambas - the Sultan's City of Kalimantan Barat (West Borneo). I don't find any other guys here in the city to share my hobby but on forums (internet). The only guy I know for now is my cousin who just enjoy tracking satellites like me. But now he's on studying biology at UNTAN Pontianak an someday to be a teacher.

I by myself did not finished my study there at English Department. So as my little and poor English I try this all by build my very own weblog and give my contribution to people around the globe especially to Asian viewer for I just can receive the signals through Asian coverage region by now.

My equipment today are just these:

Receiver:

        Technosat Mentari - Powerful with its blindscanning capability.

        SS2 (SkyStar 2 PCI) - DVB Card to play on my old PC and do some.

Dish:

        8 feet mesh dish - locally made in Pontianak (I thought).

LNBs:

        Ku-Band LNB from Venus - Universal Prime Focus.

        C-Band - Tanaka and Techsat.

TV monitor:

        14 inch CRT tv (I just bought lately - very small huh, but it's conveinient

         for my little 3 x 4 m room.

Other tools:

        PC with Intel Pentium IV 1.6 GHz inside, not so special guys.

        Internet - GPRS dial up from the GSM operators, sometimes FREE.

You see I'm not so tough and not equip with the high tech gadgets, but I try my best on providing the latest information of this satellite field. I'm proudly to present my work by enjoy. This is all because I love this hobby very much, and want someday to become one of the great satellite trackers in the world. I wish...

Lately I just have tracking some transponders on Measat 3 at 91,5'E. I used my new receiver (not really new, because I've bought it months ago but just already use it recenly) with blindscan capability. And and found 15 transponders on the transmitting signal, then the result is here:

But, instead I knew that Astro has many transponders here at Measat 3 Ku-Band, and ofcourse some or mainly of these transponder actually belong to Astro, and some for the new paytv from Indonesia which calls itself as AORATV but still I don't know which of these belong to AORATV too.

Therefore, I hope you find it your way on your receiver, assume you've got a better and higher technology than me. Good luck!

SITI Network on Promo

Siti Network is one of the latest pay tv package which transmitted through Asiasat4 at 122,2'E. This pay tv still on promo so it always gives the viewer some FTA lately.

Last night my friend on Forum Satelit told me that HBO was FTA. As soon I got the information I tuned my dish to point at the satellite and that was true, once again the all packages of SITI are on promo, you can watch all of the pay tv services for FREE.

It's just usually not long to be scrambled again. This promo usually takes time for about hours but not a day, well this time it could be as to Deepavali Day in India. But no matter what, just enjoy as long as it is on promo and FTA. The programmes are high quality tv programme such as HBO, CNN, ZEE Network (ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema, ZEE Action, ZEE Business, and more), Cartoon Network, POGO, and etc.. etc that I last checked today's morning, it is still FTA so check it out for yourself.

SkyGrabber - Introduction

People with less interest in playing with many codes to tweak usully love a GUI application to run. In the grabbing itself, indeed we love using some GUI program like SkyGrabber which it's beautiful look and powerful performance.

As a newbie can use this tool easily and don't have to learn much to get and to be advance user. But hey, what exactly this tool is all about. Hmm... You'll learn fast here, it is really the vast majority of people use this tool for grabbing. Why? Well, back again, it is the simplest tool to grabb files from the satellite internet provider for FREE.

What exactly is this tool all about? Well, SkyGrabber is an offline satellite internet downloader, that it intercepts the data sent (movie, picture, mp3, and many more) which downloaded by other users of this satellite internet provider then save the files to our local harddrives.

How Does SkyGrabber Work?

This is the explanation from the owner of this program definition (source: SkyGrabber Dot Com):

As we have already been identified, responses to the requests come from the satellite. The satellite transmits data all users in one stream. The data are accepted by all who are in the satellite coverage area. In fact, you can set up your satellite dish on this satellite and we'll receive the data, which is produced by other users.

But you say, well, well, we get the data, but how do we get the files that other users are downloading? The SkyGrabber can do it. The program intercepts data of other users, assemble in files and saves files in your hard drive. SkyGrabber makes your life more exciting and interesting.

In practie, you just have to swith your PC and turn your satellite dish on to the provider of the satellite internet (which found many there), and start the grabb. Do some searching for transponder through the SkyGrabber and find also the pids which is the point in this activity.

If you don't have a blind scan DVB-Card supported, you can google for transponder or try open up your browser and go to some forums. Or you can go to my grabbing transponder list HERE, and try some. It is really fun using this software, we can get the latest movies, musics, pictures, or even updating our software such as anti virus everyday for free, and more.

DVB Dream - The Most Player

One of the major DVB Player on PC by Windows Operating System inside is DVB Dream (don’t know whether this player has a version on other platform such as Linux). It is a well known player amongst the enthusiasts of satellite tv world. This application is so low CPU consuming compared to the player of a kind. For example ProgDVB, MyTheater, DVB Viewer, etc. Eventhough it’s still not as light as Alt-DVB.

DVB Dream player is supported by many plugins. It is well rich found on many sites and forums supplying some very interesting plugins, even a PC with low memory and CPU can run this player smoothly. For instant, my PC has only Pentium IV 1.6 GHz with 512 MB memory inside. But, the player runs very well and never freeze like this player rival, the ProgDVB. Besides, DVB Dream comes as a freeware and you can use it as long as you want it.

My DVB Dream version is now still the low version over the latest one. It’s v.1.3c. For the latest version my PC seem unlikely to run it like it’s previous version, but in my experience using the v.1.4 my CPU usage usually get higher that makes it freeze. Though it happens rarely and still can show me the favourite tvs I want. Lately I try with some plugins i.e. shown on the picture below:

There are DCW, FastSatfinder, S2-Emu, vPlug, WinCSC, dan YANKSE. The rarely used amongst the plugins is FastSatfinder.

Recently the CPU usage up to 100%, it was never happen like this before. After checking some settings on the video codecs, I found that it was caused by by the video renderer I used. And it becomes normal again after resetting it.

The trouble triggered by “Video Renderer” which I used previously was “Video Mixing Renderer 9”, then I tuned to “Video Mixing Renderer” as shown on the picture above. There my PC back to normal again, the CPU Usage has lowered to the previously is and the CPU is now working faster and lighter when the player run.

High CPU usage were causing my DVB Dream slow in response, and when I tried recording some tv shows, it was kinda freezed and signal broken. But, the quality of those records wasn’t interupted. So the result should still good and fine to play. I suggest, if you want to use DVB Dream on an old PC (for example: Pentium IV 1.6 GHz like mine or lower), try resetting up the video renderer by its default.

FTA Hot of The Week

Actually these have been FTA for days, I just remember to post it on mytvsatellite blog today. For I still can't check all the satellites I can track so far, there I give you some tv parameters on some satellite that I tuned yesterday afternoon.

My first destination was NHK Premium which now FTA on Intelsat 7/10 at 68,5'E. This NHK is one of the NHK Package with the other NHKs such as NHK Japanese and NHK English. The parameter is:

Frequency: 3475. Polarisation: Horizontal. Symbol Rate: 16.178. Please tune this parameter as it should be on your receiver. Don't stick to my info, try lower or up the frequency to 3473 to 3477, because different receiver with different LNBs usually got different parameter to input.

The other FTA on Intelsat is CNN on MultiChoice Package (last scanned yesterday afternoon - 25 October 2008). It's on the parameter: Frequency: 3744, Polarisation: Horizontal, Symbol Rate: 20.600. Channel name on my screen is CNN. Well, don't know why this channel FTA just one and the only on that parameter.

My second info goes to Telstar 10 at 76,5'E. Here we can find two tv stations which are indeed have bee on FTA mode for long, but still be a hot topic in some forums including on Forum Satelit Dot Com. Channel names are: SITEL and PINOY MOVIE.

For SITEL you can go to this parameter - Frequency: 3760. Polarisation: Horizontal. Symbol Rate: 28060. (The UBI Package). My screen shot I took yesterday was the film of "XENA", here it is:

Ooopsss... sorry for I just used my Phone Camera to take the screenshot.

PINOY MOVIE which many says has broadcasted some movies contains the adult session with parental guidance or what so in the morning is really similar to the 80's era of television broadcasting. I have never watch this channel with its XXX material so far, but rumours say it is an alternatif for some hunting for the 17 up programme. TU Confirms ProtoStar’s First Satellite is Operating Fully Within All Regulatory Guidelines

Hamilton, Bermuda, October 24, 2008 – Executives of ProtoStar Ltd. today praised the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) Radiocommunication Bureau for issuing a Circular Telegram on 8 October 2008 to all 113 member nations confirming that ProtoStar I is, and has been, operating fully within applicable ITU rules and regulations since its successful launch on 7 July 2008.

In its Circular Telegram, the ITU acknowledged that the Administration of Belarus, the notifying Administration for INTERSPUTNIK (International Organization of Space Communications) , has followed the regulations to properly bring frequencies into use on the operationally-healthy ProtoStar I satellite at 98.5 degrees east under the Intersputnik-98.5ECK satellite network. The ITU also confirmed that ProtoStar has met all due diligence requirements of ITU Resolution 49.

”This international circular from the Radiocommunication Bureau underscores what we’ve been saying all along: that ProtoStar is a solid ‘ITU citizen’,” said Philip Father, ProtoStar’s President and CEO. “We have operated, and will continue to operate, our satellites in full compliance with the ITU requirements. We continue to work with our orbital neighbors to fully and fairly coordinate all frequencies to maintain the integrity of their services as well as our own.”

Stefan Kollar, Intersputnik’s Deputy Director General, added that “being an intergovernmental organization that files and internationally legally protects its satellite networks through the notifying administration of Belarus, Intersputnik guarantees that all applicable provisions of the ITU Radio Regulations including those related to avoidance of harmful interference to satellite networks having ITU date priority are strictly observed whenever any projects are implemented in cooperation with ProtoStar or other satellite operators.”

In early July, ProtoStar announced a cooperation agreement with INTERSPUTNIK to provide direct-to-home (DTH) television and broadband Internet services to DTH operators throughout South and Southeast Asia using ProtoStar I’s powerful Ku-band and C-band transponders, enabling small dish television. ProtoStar’s customers already include a premier line up of established Asian and Indian operators including Agrani Satellite Services Limited, a division of DishTV India Ltd.; PlanetSky Ltd. of Limassol, Cyprus; Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (SingTel); and most recently a collaboration with PLDT/Mabuhay Satellite Corporation.

Measure Twin LNB Space

Having difficulty on how to measure the space between two LNB (twin settlement)? At least I just use my feeling to guess this space and never thought of using any formula to implement on the practice. But actually if we dig deeper, the formula for this measurement is there to be implemented in making our own Twin LNB's manually by hand instead of buying this scalar ring on the market even for 4 (four) LNB's.

Weeks ago my friends in Forum Satelit Dot Com has been discussing this formula who's at the end of this discussion came into action by applying it to a simple formula worksheet there you'll be easy to measure any space between any two or twin LNB's. Thanks to Mr. Arfi (Axels@t aka Axelrose) for this .XLS file. It's very useful.

Insya Allah (God wish) in the future the Sheet will be updated to better result in counting this space.

Look at this picture:

The measurement seems very simple if we take a look at just to the formula, but instead it's difficult indeed if we don't understand the basic of it. Fortunately this is all made happen by just submit our dish diameter and the length between the two satellites we want to receive through our twin LNB's. Everything then being very very easy to do.

I have just remembered on my experience in installation of Ku-Band LNB for Astro Malaysia (the era of input keys) by main satellite point was to Palapa C2. It was really hard to do, but once again we just did it by feeling and a little mathematician formula. Thank God for giving me this formula then, and thanks to all my friends on Forum Satelit Dot Com, my friends and family a very big family indeed. Cheers for you guys.

Satellite Internet Free (One Way)

If you one of the satellite freak, I think you have always hear this kind of Internet free download activity. We call it grabbing or should I say "One Way Connection" instead?

What you need to have first in hand is a set of parabolic antenna. Then you need to have a DVB-Card (I use SS2 or officially called SkyStar 2 from Technisat). This two kind of tools is the main key to have this One Way connection.

And last but not least, surely you have to use your PC for this (in some other way, you could also use a receiver box so called dreambox). There you have these tools, but still you need one thing. As a matter of using your PC,then you also need the software.

Many softwares are available in the "market", hehe... Ofcourse, if you wanna use "SkyGrabber" then you have to buy it to fully function all the grabbing process they offer. But, incase you don't have enough money to buy it, there a lot more people spread the spirit of "Cracking Arst Materials" (the cracked softwares) on the underground webs. So don't be sad for having little money in your pocket, but if you have much please support the programmer buy officially buy it. I don't suggest you to have and use any illegal materials.

So, so far you have all these things to get into actions. But, I wanna make sure you get the best. Using the Free Softwares is also possible and in some cases even more powerful than using the paid ones. Try SkyNet instead of SkyGrabber. Some other progams can be used to grabb file from the satellite are Turbo Grabber and FileGrabber (rarely seen used by users in many forums). But still the famous are SkyNet and SkyGrabber.

Pay TV Reload Voucher

TelkomVision is the only one of paytv providers in Indonesia which offers such a flexibility system to watch some quality content tv shows. Offering many choices of tv stations the customers love to watch programmes such as HBO, AXN, Star Movies, Star Sport, MTV Asia, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and many more.

We just need to buy the voucher reload, like on the cellphone provider is that? This system makes TelkomVision be the most different from the competitors in the same business. How smart they are using this system. You can still watch FTA tv stations all around the countries when you don’t have money in your pocket to pay for the voucher.

In another case, this paytv uses Irdeto 2 as the encryption system that easily hacked through cardsharing tools for example WinCSC (NewCamd) – the simple one, and SimpleGbox, etc. We can use an internet connection such as GPRS based service from GSM cellular operators with its minimal connection speed of 1 KBPS, yes we just need 1 KBPS to run the cardsharing smoothly on a normal server (out of busy hours ofcourse).

If you don’t want to use “internet sharing” and you have the voucher reloaded, you can use homesharing to watch the programmes on many receivers by different channel selected. This methode needs at least one main receiver which should supply the keys from the original card and one or two or more receivers to receive it and view the programme. You also need some RS323 cable to make it happen (sorry for not supplying brief explanation about this homesharing – but you can Google or find some tutorial on many forums for it).

Recently, the provider of TelkomVision has upgraded some of their system through OTA connectivity and the rumour says this will prevent cardsharing ability throughout entire system tools used before as I mentioned above. But, to be sure just wait for next information from people running this sharing system.

But, don’t worry, “no risk no game”... “One down, thousands rise up”. By the way, on my opinion if you want to subscribe to a pay tv provider, think first of your budget. If you’re able to subscribe to a high cost one like Indovision or Astro, do it. But, if you prefer to take the advantage of the flexibility from TelkomVision, why not? Subsribe for it, and remember to get contact to their Customer Service easily. This is important due to many problems sometimes happen in the subscription periode.

Cardsharing Vs. Input Keys

There're several interesting things when I got my one set of satellite tv and a PC with DVB-Card inside (mine is SS2 or SkyStar 2 PCI). Amongst of its capability are Cardsharing (Internet Sharing) and Input Keys that the last concept of these two hack is all abot viewing the Pay TV as cheapest as we can and even for free.

Cardsharing or we just call it for short by CS is about sharing the keys of the original subscriber reception signals through a server. This kind of server send the keys needed to decrypt the encrypted signals mainly by Internet Server - that we call it then Internet Sharing, or by a more high cost connection using the satellite transponder such as the Matrix Revolution which uses the server sharing keys through Asiasat 4 to watch DSTV (Multi Choice Africa - PayTV Provider).

Cardsharing can also run on "Home Sharing". Home sharing as long as I know, is not using any internet connection but some cables or other connection whic also does not use any internet connection. The data keys are sent from the main receiver (with its original card inside supplied by the provider) to the slave receiver through a cable setup as needed.

Input keys is the matter of using "hacked keys" by submitting the keys to any receiver or dvb-card with EMU supported inside. This is cannot applied on any FTA only receiver. The keys to input here usually from the paytv whose encryption system is still weak and haven't got upgraded yet for example tv's with BISS Encryption System and the Nagravision1 Encryption System. This way of hacking by this methode is so simple, you just need to search for the keys on the net or do it by yourself using DCW Brute Force.

This input keys methode that still possible to view Pay TV for free (which I still can watch for now) is an Indian tv named B4U Movies through Intelsat 7/10 @ 68,5'E by its parameter as here: Freq = 4064 - Polarisation = H - Symbol Rate = 19.850. I also got a chance to view Trace TV (music channel) on Asiasat 2, but it now it has been patched. The keys for Trace TV was similar to Cyfra + Europe beam. Trace TV was using "SECA2 Encryption System" by its parameter as here: Freq = 3960 - Polarisation = H - Symbol Rate = 27.500. Rumours on many forums say that Trace TV has still been hacked with the keys published on some forums, but after tried those keys it's still blank. Don't know why, some say the Encryption System has been upgraded to SECA3 (don't know exactly).

Latest news from input keys area is the Dream TV transmitted through Agila 2 (146'E) which up until now still has not upgraded its encryption system i.e. still use Nagravision1 (once again - I'm not so sure for this encryption) that we still able to view some of its channels for FREE. But, once again, rumours on some forums say that Dream TV also has been in process to upgrade its encryption to more secure one that is the Nagravision 3. Therefore in a short time this Dream TV will never be viewed for FREE anymore, just subscribe for it.. hehe...!!! Unfortunately the beam does not cover my city - Sambas, so I haven't seen any of tv program from this FREE reception of Dream TV. Wish if I could..!

Cardsharing and iput keys has its own plus minus (advantage and disadvantage). Cardsharing can be done FREE (if there's a FREE server for it) even it's not 100% for at least we need the internet connection. Cardsharing can also be run by subscribing to someone owning this kind of server (officially this is still done on underground world of satellite - because indeed cardsharing is illegal by default). We need at least an internet connection by a cellphone GSM provider through GPRS on transfer rate of about 1 KBPS minimum.

The advantage of using Cardsharing is because there are many server providers (you can find some on forums discussing satellite tv). The disadvantage is we still need the internet to connect to the server which in some region this internet is still rarely found for example at remote area without any GSM or CDMA cellular provider. Whereas on Input Keys we just have to submit the correct keys according to our receiver encryption system supported and then we can watch the programme afterwards. Unfortunately, those "hacked keys" are limited to some channels only if you live in Asia and Pasific Region.

Turn Mesh Dish to Solid

Ever thought of modificate a mesh dish into a solid one? Could that be done all by hand? So, what do we need to do this all stuff and turn the mesh dish into solid? Do we need recalculation so the dish form are not changed in measurement? Practically, one of the way to make this happen is using an "alluminium foil" which usually used by our wives to cook some food in the oven. Believe me!

I can think more deeply, indeed the world of satellite television has much more connectivity to the world of cooking practiced by the housewife. And even the name of the satellite parabolic antenna so called "dish" which can be interpreted as "pan" (to fry) and "plate" to eat our food on. So that? Very close indeed the two different kind of worlds.

We have known the capability of "talennan" which is a tool modificated from a thick plastic usully used to cut vegetables and meat into pieces, functioning on tracking the circular signal from the satellite and usually pointed to Yamal 202 (brings many Russian Channels - mainly for adult one). Today, we gonna see how an alluminium foil helps us in gaining the signal quality of the reception which is usually weak from some satelites. Infact, this alluminium foil is able to strengthening the signal as the alluminium in common i.e. "to reflect" such signal on more focus.

Nowadays, alluminium is used to reflect the signal as on the mesh dish, and the ribs of the dish itself. Whereas the alluminium foil which will be used in our experiment here is only a kind of thin alluminium sheet (without a hole on) glued to the surface of the mesh we try to modificate. It's very wonderful. Based on our experiment at last Friday, we only glued the alluminium foil 1/3rd of the mesh on 6ft dish, and amazingly it could gain the signal quality by 10%.

The alluminium foil is about 7 m lenght and 30 cm width, glued on the mesh reflector using "super glue" (a glue for steel) and on the outside of the dish surface we used "lakban". It is suggested to use orange "Lem Fox" to glue the alluminium foil because it can be sticked harder (our assumption - but not tried yet). The only thing we could not handle on was about the wind which blow this solid dish modification to pieces. Unti now we still cannot settle down on this problem, still have no idea. Besides, heavy rain can also break the alluminium foil too because of its sheet too thin and too easy to tear apart just by fingers.

The gaining of the signal quality by 10% is very funtastic and interesting, because its sheet is very thin and we never thought of this before. Indosiar signal before the modification process was just about 38%. We finished the experiment for about 1/3rd of the inner dish surface modificated. We try to see the result of our unfinished modificated dish. Surprisingly, it's up to 48% of the signal quality. Very very funtastic. Click on those pictures above for bigger and clear view.

If only we finished the work 100% cover the dish inner surface using this alluminium foil, the possibility to rise up the RCTI signal quality which is now still "No Signal" is there. Whereas at only 1/3rd of the modified dish, this RCTI quality signal has shown its sign of signal recepted which were only 0% to now 32% (eventhough it's still blank on the television monitor). Beside RCTI, the other signals have also shown progress. Anteve which were 0% too, now can be well recepted with its stabilize signal at 42%, meanwhile TVOne which were about 35% (picture breaks like teared VCD) became 40% (sound and picture quality normal).

What an incredible achievement for us, and from this experiment we just come to conclusion that the correlation between the two worlds i.e. the world of satellite tv and the world of cooking (by housewives) are very thight indeed. When the housewives are cooking "the kates", than the husbands "eat kates". (Joking Mode: ON).

Astro - Paytv after gone away!

Some of my friends at Forum Satelit Dot Com say that their children are crying a day after having no access to Disney Play House i.e. the cartoon show on Disney Channel, one of the children’s most favourite show by Astro Nusantara that recently gone “blank”. Poor they who are recently being the subscriber of Astro Nusantara. The friends of mine have been the Astro Nusantara Subscriber for sometime, but the conflict in the Astro’s internal provider made the subscribers dissappointed and lost their fun watching after long.

Recently the Astro Malaysia has also upgraded their encryption system with the new secure one (for the provider; red) so that many of Cardsharing systems which runs nowadays on some receivers with its internet sharing keys capabilities can not decrypt the signals point down from the Astro Malaysia Provider (On Measat 3 at 91,5⁰E). Even the Dream Box Machine and Manhattan HD Receiver can not run for this new system so called NDS3. The keys changes are so fast as many of the internet sharing systems can do nothing to handle those keys sent.

But, don’t worry guys. As many says “There More Ways to go to Rhoma” (plesetan mode: ON), there will be any way to settle this new problems down, hack is running around the hack tv enthusiasts. Some will be high cost, but some will be cheaper and even for FREE (the system I meant, but not for the illegal subscribtion payment). Lately there’s some rumour in foreign forums dan in the Forum Satelit too that discussed about to handle this new encryption methode. They call it “double emu” system (pretty sorry for not being able to give details on this kinda tool – still search for this clear information), which “they say” can decode (decrypt) the NDS3 by implementing this methode (double emu) to Dreambox Receiver. Please wait for this info to update here later!

Its gone away of this astro nusantara and the encryption system upgraded by astro malaysia, infact leave an upleasant feeling to the viewers (including me; red – eventhough I did not subcribe), so we need more work to go and find a new way to “hack” by internet sharing as before on the astro paytv provider.

I still remember one of my friend at some satellite forum says that “Watching the different way” (generally illegal way; the connotation just goes that; red) more fun than a conventionally way for only view th FTA – (Free to Air) – or even by legally subscribe to the provider.(out of exceptional to we are capable of), even for sometimes “the gadget” needed to play consumes our pocket in high a price than its legally subscribtion. “The Fun” which makes it all be different.

This blog as I mentioned is about satellite television in general. I start blogging on this theme as a personal writer using my own perspective on this field. I don’t affiliated to any pay tv companies, any commercial websites that supply some sort of support by money for me except the Ads from some local ads services such as Kumpul Blogger and Adsensecamp. Some or should I say mainly by Google Ads due to I am learning this money making online today.

Satellite TV

Using a parabolic antenna or dish at home to watch tv from around the countries has been the major hobby for me. It is more than just a hobby because I meet (or if it's not that category, have instead) many friends from Indonesia and other countries such as: Australia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Philipine and Malaysia that share the interests of tasting this service.

It's not just about television, it is also about the quality program that we love to track the satellite for any transponders changed. Everyday the new channel has it own progress on many satellites that beam on the East Hemisphere not including Europe and Africa.

I use for now, a set of PC and DVB-Card from Technisat with its famous brand of SkyStar 2 PCI and USB (mine is PCI). This set of television sets (for me privately) is enough just to watch my favourite channels on the satatellites.

My main sat-point is Palapa C2 at 113'E with its Indonesian Channels (most favourite one is Global TV) and Telkom 1 at 108'E by tuning to TransTV usually and some Telkomvision Channel (if the channels are in FTA). The foreign tvs would be DW-tv and Al-Jazeera on Asiasat 3S at 105,5'E and some Europe Channels on Asiasat 2 at 100,5'E.

My sat-point then goes to Measat 3 (91,5'E), ST1 (88'E), Insat and Thaicom, Telstar 10, Intelsat 7/10, all of them are on the west point on the horizon. At east I got Chinasat 6 (115,5'E), Asiasat 4 (120'E), JCSAT3 (128'E), Telstar18 (138'E), and more ofcourse.

My 8ft mesh dish has just been at those range of satellites for now, but I plan to catch more in the future. Using my PC doing grabbing activity sometime or having some CS (Cardsharing to Watch the Paytv - it's actually illegal). Lastly, I try my satellite hunt more to west to get some signal from Russian Satellite i.e. Yamal 202 to watch some adult content, but nothing found yet and try it later. Maybe I should buy a new dish to subtitute my locally made 8ft dish.
